I start with this book. According to Judith that all of gender roles are performance.

It also talks about the ‘frame’ in the book ‘The Traffic of Women: The ‘Political Economy’ of sex’. According to this framework, a woman must function within the dominant heterosexual frame and if someone doubts the frame, the person might lose a gender position.
